by Shane Henson — June 29, 2012—BuildingLink.com, a provider of Web-based systems for managing communications, operations, and day-to-day activities for occupants and staff in residential buildings internationally, was recently contracted to install KeyLink, the company’s electronic key management system, into 13 of Western Rim’s luxury properties in Texas.
KeyLink by BuildingLink is a complete electronic key security and management solution for the residential and commercial real estate market that records each key request into a password-protected database. KeyLink is also a third-generation Internet-connected appliance that communicates to staff and residents through e-mail or text message every time a key is removed, says BuildingLink.
Western Rim Property Services and its wholly owned affiliate Newport Classic Homes own and manage more than 7,500 apartment homes in Dallas/Fort Worth, Rockwall, San Antonio and Tyler, Texas. Seeking to provide its residents with the latest technology, KeyLink was an obvious choice, the company says. Especially appealing was its intuitive touchscreen, quick install, biometric fingerprint reader, and secure SmartTag key tags for efficiently organizing keys.
The system consists of one or more 20″ (140 key slots) or 30″ (224 key slots) drawers, key tags, and a biometric fingerprint reader. Optional equipment includes a Webcam to secure a photo of the requestor, and a signature pad.
“When we looked at KeyLink as a possible key tracking solution for our properties, we were impressed with the fact that all the software and firmware updates occur online automatically,” said Ziomara Young, Western Rim Property Services vice president of property management.
Since its launch in 2010, more than 139 KeyLink systems have been installed throughout the United States and internationally, notes BuildingLink.
