by Ann Withanee — September 23, 2011—Building on its family of LED desk lamps, Bulbrite introduces Swyvel and Symple, two energy-saving alternatives to traditional desk lamps. Bulbrite is a manufacturer and supplier of innovative, energy-efficient light source solutions and an educational resource for lamping technology.

LED (light-emitting diodes) technology has brought energy efficiency to facilities and has broadened available products on the market. As technology expands, so does its usefulness. For instance, Bulbrite Swyvel includes a USB port that can charge portable electronics such as smartphones and mp3 players, a handy and desirable feature for users.

Swyvel and Symple represent energy-efficient LED task lighting with high performance, functionality and aesthetic appeal. They are designed with multiple points of adjustability and a smooth, five-step touch dimming feature.

Both lamps are designed and engineered with high-quality LEDs that emit a safe, bright white light. They reportedly operate cooler than incandescent and fluorescent lamps and eliminate color fading on artwork, graphics, or other printed materials. The desk lamps are also environmentally friendly without using any mercury.

Swyvel has a cool color temperature of 5000K with an output of 250 lumens. Swyvel uses just 8 watts while providing a light output comparable to a 75-watt incandescent bulb, a savings of nearly $295 over its 22-year lifetime (40,000 hours). Swyvel is designed with three points of adjustability for maximum flexibility and a 270-degree vertical rotation. It is available in a black or white finish. The lamp stands 17.6 inches tall and sits on a base with a diameter of 7.75 inches. Swyvel also has a USB port that can charge portable electronics such as smartphones and mp3 players.

Symple has a cool color temperature of 5500K while delivering 150 lumens. This desk lamp uses just 7 watts, with a light output that is comparable to a 40-watt incandescent bulb. It offers a savings of nearly $91 over its 14-year lifetime (25,000 hours). Symple is designed with two points of adjustability for versatility and is available in a black finish. The lamp stands 15.6 inches tall and sits on a base that is 4.5 inches wide and 7.4 inches long.

Both lamps are backed by a three-year warranty and are UL approved.
