by Brianna Crandall — February 24, 2014—Belgium-based BuzziSpace, a provider of eco-friendly and acoustically effective products, is continuing a year-long collaboration with the acquisition of Mutrox, a Netherlands-based industry leader in the construction and installation of soundproof studios and home theaters. The collaboration will create BuzziSpace Acoustics, a group dedicated to the creation of technically advanced acoustical products and solutions.
The acquisition brings greater research and development capabilities to the office furniture brand BuzziSpace, which recently settled into newly renovated headquarters in Belgium and is expanding its production and operations in the Americas with the sustainable renovation of a 100-year-old former cotton mill in High Point, North Carolina.
“The creation of BuzziSpace Acoustics allows us to expand our leadership position within the acoustical solution space,” said Steve Symons, co-owner, BuzziSpace. “Our product is recognized for its bright, youthful feel and this acquisition will strengthen our balance of form and function throughout corporate environments.”
The new BuzziSpace Acoustics will also develop its own range of products with highly technical solutions to acoustical problems, such as invisible solutions for restaurants and hotels. Products already developed under the collaboration incude the new BuzziResoFuser, BuzziBlox and BuzziBassTrap.
BuzziSpace’s structure will largely stay intact, but the company will grow. The brand will add additional sales people to serve the HiFi segment while continuing to develop modular products for the office space sector. BuzziSpace also plans to offer do-it-yourself packages for studios, developed as a complete solution with ideal measurements and dimensions for optimum sound, serving a range of interior needs.
