by Shane Henson — January 29, 2014—BuzziSpace, a provider of eco-friendly products that help create collaborative workplaces, recently released another innovative product developed from “waste.” The company upcycles remnants of its BuzziFelt eco-felt product, which was itself originally made from recycled plastic bottles, to create the BuzziBrickBack acoustic wall panel.

Designed by Sas Adriaenssens, the BuzziBrickBack acoustic panel is designed to absorb noise while adding a stylish, artistic element to a space. Several patterns are available, including those with just one color or mixes of several eye-catching shades. Along with absorbing sound, BuzziBrickBack creates a surface perfect for pinning photos and notes to the wall—a sort of acoustic corkboard that has all the benefits of BuzziSpace’s environmentally friendly philosophy, the company notes.

Underlining the company’s commitment to making high-quality acoustic products that are as sustainable as possible, strips of unused BuzziFelt, a recycled polyethylene terephthalate (PET) eco-felt made from 100 percent plastic bottle waste, are cut and applied in an attractive design for BuzziBrickBack, giving the acoustic panel its great visual appeal, the company says.

In addition to its acoustic panels, Belgium-based BuzziSpace has created an array of acoustically effective products that create little oases of peace and quiet in the workplace, and may be adjusted to suit changing needs. BuzziSpace addresses the challenges of the collaborative workspace with products that inspire interaction through simple, sustainable, and acoustically driven design. Through careful selection of materials, BuzziSpace strives to ensure that all products meet the highest standards of performance and environmental stewardship.
