by AF 0310 d3 — March 15, 2010—Anyone who’s been frustrated with large amounts of wires and cables tangled under their contemporary desks will appreciate Caretta Workspace, according to statement announcing the launch of the company.
“As a society, we have surrounded ourselves with a large grouping of computer hardware at our workspaces, from computers with multiple monitors to printers to audio equipment to wireless routers and laptops with docking stations,” explained Larry Tracewell, CEO and founder of the company. “But the look of the entire office is ruined by an unsightly tangle of wires and power cables that connects our computer equipment. We came up with ways to make wires disappear. Caretta can securely lock a laptop computer connected to its docking station in a temperature controlled compartment.”
Tracewell has launched Caretta Workspace out of a modern manufacturing facility in greater Columbus, Ohio. All design and manufacturing for the operation is located in Columbus using many of the same advanced processes and techniques developed at Tracewell Systems, Inc.
The Caretta Web site allows users to configure the furniture for his or her individual workspace. The site includes a wide variety of desks, conference tables, filing, shelving and functional accessories such as a 19-inch rack mount system and a sloped console. They are offered in choice of solid cherry with a natural or dark finish, with options such as left or right returns, multiple drawer configurations and LED task lighting.
Caretta embraces environmental sustainability from production to installation, with manufacturing processes that minimize scrap material and wood sourced from a supplier that uses Best Management Practices for sustainable forestry.
