The RRP program is the first major initiative launched under RoofPoint since the program was publicly unveiled in October 2012.

[RoofPoint www.RoofPoint.org”> is a voluntary, consensus-based green rating system developed by the Center to provide a means for building owners, roofing contractors and designers to select roof systems based on long-term energy and environmental benefits in five strategic categories of modern sustainable commercial roofing: Energy Management Materials Management Water Management Durability / Lifecycle Management Environmental Innovation in Roofing

The mission of the RoofPoint Registered Professional (RRP) program is to develop a group of experienced professionals representing all key roofing stakeholders who have demonstrated competency in the application of the RoofPoint Guideline for Innovative Nonresidential Roofing to evaluate individual roofing projects.

“RoofPoint Registered Professionals represent a dedicated group of professionals in the roofing industry who make critical contributions every day to sustainable construction and whose work helps to showcase the critical role roofs play in mitigating the impact buildings have on our environment,” said Center President Craig Silvertooth.

RRPs may provide services to building owners, facilities managers, and other building designers interested in achieving the RoofPoint designation for their projects. The inaugural class of RoofPoint Registered Professionals includes 22 professionals representing each key sector of the roofing industry. The RRPs are listed on the RoofPoint Web site under “Find a RoofPoint Professional.”

Professionals interested in seeking the RoofPoint Registered Professional designation are encouraged to visit “Become a RoofPoint Professional” on the program Web site.

The Center for Environmental Innovation in Roofing is a nonprofit organization headquartered in Washington, DC, whose mission is to promote the development and use of environmentally responsible, high-performance roof systems and technologies.
