by Brianna Crandall — December 13, 2013—The Nightingale Product Design Awards, which recognize the best new healthcare products exhibited at the annual Healthcare Design Conference, were announced at the November conference by Contract magazine in conjunction with The Center for Health Design, a nonprofit organization that strives to transform healthcare environments through best practices in design, construction and operations, and publisher and event producer Vendome Group.

The awards recognize new healthcare and contract (non-residential) products introduced to the U.S. market since November 2012. Each manufacturer is limited to a total of four entries. A jury of healthcare architects, interior designers, and facilities managers reviews entrants based on the following criteria: contribution to the healing environment, functionality, quality and durability, aesthetics and style, pricing and innovation.

The 2013 winners are:

  • Best of Competition: CF Stinson for Funnybone
  • Gold Award in Carpet: Patcraft for Butterfly Effect
  • Silver Award in Carpet: Mannington Commercial for Design Classics
  • Gold Award in Fabrics and Textiles: CF Stinson for Funnybone

Produced in association with the American Institute of Architects (AIA) Academy of Architecture for Health in partnership with IIDA, ASID, IFMA-HCC and others, this multi-faceted learning and networking experience convenes some 4,300 design, construction and management professionals from 30 countries and 300 exhibitors.
