by Shane Henson — February 18, 2013—The Chartered Institution of Building Services Engineers (CIBSE) recently announced the winners of its 2013 Building Performance Awards at a ceremony on February 5 at the Grosvenor House Hotel in London.
The awards are designed to involve clients and the full supply chain, as well as to give recognition to the role of building services engineers, and to reward the best examples of actual performance, innovation and practice, says CIBSE.
The winners of the 2013 Building Performance Awards are:
- Training for Building Performance Award: Low Carbon Fit Out Guide for Retail 2012—Land Securities
- Building Services Consultancy of the Year: Baxi Commercial Division
- Contractor of the Year: Hoare Lea
- Energy-using Product Award: Spirotech Lighting Platform—Redwood Systems
- Passive (energy-related) Product of the Year: Aerogel Solar Collector—Buro Happold and Brunel University in collaboration with Fraser Brown Mackenna Architects, Nuaire Ltd, Xtralite Ltd and Permarock Products Ltd
- Collaborative Working Award: Atkins and London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games
- Client Energy Management Award: British Land
- New Build Project of the Year (value up to £5 million): Bushbury Hill Primary School, Wolverhampton—Architype Ltd and E3 Consulting Engineers LLP
- New Build Project of the Year (value above £5 million): The Hive, Worcester—Max Fordham
- Refurbishment Project Award: Number 20 Lena Gardens, London—Green Tomato Energy
