City of Las Vegas taps Hara for Environmental and Energy Management software

by Rebecca Walker — July 14, 2010—The glittering city of Las Vegas has become the latest local government to deploy Hara Environmental and Energy Management software to accelerate municipal sustainability initiatives.

The city and the environmental software developer, which is based in Redwood City, California, said that Las Vegas has decided to work with the Hara product. A day earlier, the company and a national association of municipalities, ICLEI — Local Governments for Sustainability USA, announced a strategic partnership which, in effect, promotes Hara’s software system among organization members as a robust alternative to efficiency management tools they may already use.

Las Vegas is Hara’s 35th client since it launched in June 2009 and its third municipality following the cities of Palo Alto and San Jose. In all, Hara has relationships with five local governments and support organizations: The fifth is Sustainable Silicon Valley, which signed up with Hara in December.
