by Jbs f3 — October 12, 2008—The Cityscape Architectural Awards, which bill themselves as the “world’s premier architectural awards for the emerging markets,” were recently presented at the Cityscape Dubai 2008 international real estate show, with over 700 industry professionals in attendance.
The awards reward excellence in architecture and design from the emerging regions of the Gulf States, the Middle East, Asia, Africa, South America, Latin America and South and East Asia. The awards seek to recognize and reward real estate industry professionals, projects, developments and architects that have shown outstanding designs, performance, vision, and achievement in key emerging market and project areas.
A special feature of this year’s Cityscape Architectural Awards was the introduction of a Young Architect Award. Within the main award categories, a record 365 entries were received from a wide range of emerging market countries.
Along with an international judging panel, the awards were supported by the Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA), the American Institute of Architects (AIA), and the Architectural Association of the UAE (aaUAE).
