Convia and Sylvania Lighting Services forge energy management partnership

by Rebecca Walker — August 27, 2010—Convia/A Herman Miller Company announces it is partnering with the country’s largest lighting maintenance provider, Sylvania Lighting Services (SLS). The partnership will help Convia customers meet energy management goals by giving them access to Sylvania’s technicians nationwide for commissioning and maintenance services.

Convia technology helps buildings maintain aggressive energy management strategies — and adapt to the evolving needs of the people and organizations who occupy them — by integrating the control and metering of a space’s lighting, plug load and HVAC applications.

“Ongoing commissioning of energy management strategies is vital for buildings to achieve long-term savings and optimal performance, and our customers have come to rely on Convia to help with this process,” said Randy Storch, president of Convia. “Now they’ll benefit from the added expertise of Sylvania’s highly trained technicians to ensure they are fully maximizing the use of our technology. Sylvania’s broad network of energy commissioning experts will allow for an on-the-ground resource for all of our customers regardless of locale.”

With more than 850 technicians across the country, SLS will become a local service provider for Convia customers. When Convia technology is integrated into a building, a local SLS representative will be deployed to the site to perform commissioning. Sylvania technicians will be deployed if maintenance service is requested or to support adjustment for optimum building performance.

Convia, Inc./A Herman Miller Company, seeks to advance energy management strategies and change the way people design, build, personalize and manage space. For more information, see the Web site.
