Copeland Corp.’s fuel gas booster is a scroll-based compressor developed for low-pressure natural gas applications in the distributed power market. Copeland says this patented technology is capable of boosting the pressure on low-pressure gas lines to levels required for microturbines, gensets, and fuel cells. Copeland adds that a single scroll package delivers enough gas to supply up to three 30-kilowatt Capstone microturbines working together as a single 90-kilowatt generator. The UL listed gas booster is a variable speed, low-pressure natural gas compression and is a complete, stand-alone package capable of boosting natural gas line pressure from as little as 15 psia to 115 psia in a single stage of compression.
