by Shane Henson — September 7, 2011—Corbin Russwin’s newly designed DC5000 Series Cam Action Door Closer may be an excellent choice for either new construction or renovations for high-traffic healthcare, office and educational facilities, offering easy opening and safe, secure closing.

According to Corbin Russwin, innovator and manufacturer of architectural hardware and security solutions, the door closer offers lower opening resistance than a rack-and-pinion-type closer as well as optimum closing force, allowing doors to open easily while providing the right amount of power to close and latch properly.

Sporting a standard slide track, the DC5000 provides a wide 110-degree opening range for both push-side and pull-side installations. Engineered for high-use and high-abuse situations, the non-handed DC5000 features a one-piece, high-silicone-content aluminum alloy body impregnated with resin that provides excellent corrosion resistance, along with superior strength.

Easy to install, the DC5000 is also extremely flexible; adjustable spring power, latching speed, backcheck intensity and closing speed all permit use in any type of environment, says the company. UL Listed for use with fire-rated doors and fully ADA compliant, the DC5000 offers a sleek and clean design, enhancing any door’s aesthetic appeal, says Corbin Russwin.
