This intelligent lockset communicates via Ethernet network to provide campus housing and facilities with comprehensive access control, says the company.
The Access 700 PIP1 is compliant with IEEE 802.3af specifications for Power over Ethernet and provides customized access to facilities — using magstripe and PIN code technologies — with standard network cabling. No proprietary equipment is required, allowing cost-effective installations.
Using reliable communication and power from one Ethernet (CAT5e or higher) cable, the Access 700 PIP1 combines with ASSA ABLOY’s PERSONA Campus or approved third-party OEM software to integrate seamlessly into transactional and housing systems. It is ideal for a variety of on-campus facilities, including residence halls, restrooms, dining halls, libraries, bookstores and classrooms.
The monitoring capabilities of the Access 700 PIP1 are powered and connected to the system full-time for greater access control. The intelligence built into the lock allows for local decision-making. With its on-board memory, the Access 700 PIP1 supports 2,400 users per lock and provides an audit trail of the last 10,000 events.
The Access 700 PIP1 integrates all components — ANSI Grade 1 quality lock or exit device, card reader, door position switch and Request-to-Exit sensor — into one device. It is available with mortise locks, cylindrical locks and exit devices.
The ADA-compliant Access 700 PIP1 has a 3-hour UL fire rating for maximum security and safety.
