by Rebecca Walker — March 30, 2011—Corbin Russwin, a leading manufacturer of architectural hardware and security solutions for over 160 years and an ASSA ABLOY Group company, has introduced a new push/pull hardware solution that it says is ideal in a variety of healthcare settings, as well as in K-12 environments.

The offering combines a new locking solution, the Corbin Russwin HP3000 Tubular Lock, with an attractive and functional push/pull paddle trim. UL Listed for use with Fire Rated doors, the lock is easily field-configurable in several mounting options for maximum flexibility.

The non-handed trim is offered in a range of finishes including stainless steel and features a MicroShield antimicrobial finish option. The paddle shape and location of the trim create a highly visible and comfortable target for door activation using hips or elbows. It is available with “push” and “pull” identification on paddles and is fully ADA-compliant, notes the company.

According to the company, it is appropriate for a wide range of behavioral healthcare settings, including behavioral health units, patient room doors, assisted living facilities, de-escalation rooms and psychiatric facilities. It can also be used in various educational settings, such as classrooms and laboratories.

For more than 160 years, Corbin Russwin has been a leading manufacturer of architectural hardware, providing exceptional security and design solutions for institutions nationwide. For more information, see the Web site.
