CORT’s top event furnishings trends for 2015 include powered products

by Brianna Crandall — January 26, 2015—CORT Trade Show & Event Furnishings, the nationwide furniture, lighting and accessories rental company, recently announced the top event furnishings trends for planning a remarkable and unforgettable event in 2015, including powered products, mid-century inspired furnishings, and Hollywood regency glitz.

Powered products

One key trend that facilities managers may take part in with event planners and designers is the incorporation of technology and power into events and trade show furnishings. With an ever-growing need to stay connected, a key consideration for today’s events is how to provide attendees with a solution that allows them to easily recharge their mobile devices.

“CORT is the first event rental company to roll out a complete line of powered products available nationwide that seamlessly incorporates power into the furniture,” said Jordan Carbotti, Perfect Surroundings, Intl. “As a designer, I’m constantly challenged to provide powered solutions for clients, and CORT’s new powered collection is a perfect way to get power to the people without sacrificing style.”

To meet the needs of today’s event attendees, CORT offers a collection of powered products including soft seating, chairs, tables and pedestals to the industry nationwide. The new Naples black vinyl and Roma white vinyl seating collections feature charging outlets built into the arms so that guests will never be without power.

Mid-century inspired furnishings

One of the top design trends for 2015 is mid-century inspired furnishings that reference iconic designs, shapes and modernism first popularized in the 1950s and 1960s. This trend has been brought on by an atmosphere of nostalgia for recognizable contemporary cultural touchstones, says CORT.

“The simple, modern aesthetic of furnishings from this period is popular with today’s event planners,” said Kevin Dana, director of marketing and product development, CORT Trade Show & Event Furnishings. “The minimalism of the pieces coincides with the desire to present a straightforward approach to streamline designs in a complicated world.”

CORT has introduced many new collections to help event planners incorporate this trend into their designs including the Draper collection, Xander sofa, La Brea Chair, Swanson Chair and the Madden Chair. These classic pieces can be used with any event theme to provide an instantly recognizable and iconic silhouette, says the company.

Hollywood regency glitz

Reflecting the glamour of the film industry, Hollywood regency is another popular event design trend for 2015. Incorporating modern furniture and neoclassical pieces with a vintage flair, this trend is heavily influenced by the glitz and glamour of old Hollywood. Event planners can create this stylish look by using furniture that is simple and smaller in scale in conjunction with theatrical, lavish colors, fabrics and textiles.

The CORT Wilshire collection harkens back to this era while creating an updated style for today’s event attendees. Combining blue velvets, gold, silver and black textured upholstery, its iconic look is available to event planners in key metropolitan areas such as New York, Las Vegas and southern California.
