by Shane Henson — January 21, 2013—Cree Inc. is building on its reputation of being an innovative provider of light-emitting diode (LED) lighting products with its recently launched LR6-10L six-inch LED downlight and LM16 LED Lamp.
Delivering 1,000 lumens of exceptional 90-plus color rendering index (CRI) light while achieving 90 lumens per watt, the LR6-10L combines the high-efficacy and high-quality light of Cree TrueWhite Technology with an integrated driver, enabling energy savings of up to 50 percent compared to incumbent compact florescent light (CFL) technology, or 30 percent compared to competing LED products, says Cree. Using only 11 watts of power, the LR6-10L downlight is ideal for use in new or retrofit commercial applications.
The high-performance fixture is available in color temperatures to match existing installations of incandescent, halogen and fluorescent technologies (2700K, 3000K, 3500K and 4000K). Featuring a 10-year warranty and dimmable to five percent on a broad range of dimmers, the Cree LR6-10L is also ENERGY STAR qualified. The high standard of performance opens up opportunities for more incentives and rebates available from utilities and other entities, further lowering barriers to mass LED adoption, notes Cree.
The new LM16 LED Lamp is also an energy saver and was developed to use up to 80 percent less energy and to last up to eight times longer than traditional 50-watt halogen MR16 lamps, says Cree. The lamp is offered in two wattages: 7W (35W MR16 halogen equivalent) and 9W (50W MR16 halogen equivalent).
The new LM16 LED Lamp works with a broad range of transformers and dimmers to seamlessly replace it in existing systems, the company adds. Embedded protective dimming circuitry and intelligent thermal software, in combination with the innovative Cree fanless housing design, help deliver a long lifetime of quality and performance.
The new Cree LM16 LED Lamp is available in three beam angles, including 17° spot, 25° flood and 40° wide flood.
