by Brianna Crandall — October 24, 2014—Dahua Technology, a China-based manufacturer and supplier of video surveillance products used around the world, including in 100 cities in Brazil, is introducing HDCVI Gen II cameras, taking a step up into high definition (HD) over the Coax 2.0 era. The cameras are being introduced at Security China 2014 from October 28 to November 1.
The HDCVI Gen II camera features a high-performance sensor and Dahua in-house chipset DH5000, which combines an Image Signal Processor (ISP) and TX chipset, rendering an impressive performance improvement, says the company. The new cameras can reportedly not only provide clear and crisp images at 1080p and 720p, but also an outstanding night visual effect.
Moreover, their wider dynamic range can better cope with places of strong lighting contrast. Meanwhile, Gen II inherits convenient functions of previous HDCVI models, such as the HD/SD switch and OSD menu.
As for camera types, in addition to the fixed-lens cameras, the CVI family adds 2.7mm to 12mm motorized (-Z) and vari-focal (-VF) series this time to further meet market demand. The motorized types use an optimized algorithm to realize faster and more accurate focus for instant and convenient adjustment.
In addition, there are seven models in total in various designs, including eyeballs, infrared (IR)-bullet and domes, with IP66 waterproofing and IK10 vandal resistance to help the cameras withstand harsh environments or vandalism.
The HDCVI 2.0 standard is based on HDCVI technology, meaning Dahua offers plug ‘n’ play remote control of any camera from any compliant digital video recorder (DVR) among manufacturers. Dahua reportedly advocates interoperability, and cooperates with the HDcctv Alliance.
