Dean Evans & Associates launches redesigned master event calendar

by Shane Henson — August 26, 2013—Dean Evans & Associates Inc., a developer of Web calendaring, room scheduling and event management software, recently announced the release of EMS Master Calendar Version 5.0, the latest update to its widely used collaborative Web calendar software.

According to the company, the system, which is an all-encompassing calendaring solution, received a complete redesign to the user interface as well as a number of new features including:

  • Completely redesigned fluid layout for all devices: The Master Calendar 5.0 Web site has been completely redesigned to provide a much cleaner, responsive, and easy-to-navigate interface optimized for display on PCs, tablets and mobile devices. Various layouts and theme options are available for organizations to choose from in the new Theme Roller.
  • Theme Roller customization: The new one-stop shop for all customizing of the user’s version of Master Calendar, including layout changes, color scheme selection or creation, and banner uploads—all changes to which are previewed in real time before publishing to live calendars.
  • Prioritized announcements: New “Display as Alert” option for announcements allows the user to differentiate important announcements from standard ones. Alerts are displayed with a special “alert” icon before standard announcements.
  • Featured events: The ability to indicate Featured Events at an event-by-event level is now available.
  • Local time zone support: Master Calendar now provides users with an option to display event times in their local time zones.
  • Get directions: Google Maps functionality has been added to Master Calendar. Users can now see maps for locations (with pre-assigned address geocodes) when viewing event details.
