DesignLights Consortium adds to list of qualified solid-state lighting products for utility incentive programs

by Shane Henson — August 12, 2011—Several additional products have been added to DesignLights Consortium’s SSL Qualified Products List, providing facilities managers with an even wider array of energy-efficient lighting products to specify in order to help qualify for incentives by utility efficiency programs and to reduce energy costs.

The DesignLights Consortium’s SSL Qualified Products List (QPL), which features cutting-edge solid-state LED lighting products that can be considered for incentives by utility efficiency programs in the U.S. and Canada, has been expanded to include eight new product categories.

The new categories now on the QPL are:

  • Bollards
  • Wall-wash Luminaires
  • Horizontal Refrigerated Case Lighting
  • Linear Panels, 1×4
  • Linear Panels, 2×4
  • Retrofit Kits for Outdoor Area and Roadway Luminaires
  • Retrofit Kits for Outdoor Decorative Luminaires
  • 4′ Linear Fluorescent Replacement Lamps

In addition to adding categories to the QPL, The DesignLights Consortium has also updated the qualifying specifications for the original 11 categories to ensure the list captures the most efficient lighting products.
