Digital Lumens adds to intelligent lighting system product line

by Shane Henson — August 19, 2011—Digital Lumens, a provider of intelligent lighting systems, has expanded its product line with new 15,000-lumen Intelligent Light Engines (ILEs) for highbay and midbay applications. Designed for industrial facilities with higher ceilings, high foot-candle requirements and/or wider spacing of fixtures, the new systems increase delivered light by more than 50 percent, company officials say. Available now, the new fixtures feature Digital Lumens’ system-wide intelligence, which Digital Lumens’ product designers say is proven to maximize energy efficiency and deliver lighting energy reductions of up to 90 percent.

The company’s lighting system offerings could prove beneficial for facilities managers looking to reduce expenses by securing lighting products that are both energy and cost efficient, particularly in manufacturing facilities.

Also unveiled today is the latest version of LightRules, the company’s lighting management software. The latest version of LightRules adds new capabilities specifically designed to support large-facility deployments:

  • A calendar view for easily scheduling and managing of lighting programs and profiles;
  • The ability to wirelessly move lights from one network to another to support changes in facility use;
  • Data report exports in a number of file types, including comma-separated values (CSV) spreadsheet files, simplifying the measurement and verification phase of utility rebate programs, and supporting ongoing facilities management and improvement initiatives; and
  • Advanced diagnostic tools for monitoring system performance.

Digital Lumens’ lighting management software gives facilities staff the ability to evaluate their lighting program and quickly determine what modifications are necessary for optimal energy usage and operation. FMs can also automatically change brightness levels and sensor settings for intelligent lighting systems using the LightRules software.
