The site focuses on many of the projects sponsored by DOE and supported by the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009.
The blog tells the stories of people and businesses who are transforming the clean energy economy, such as Des Moines Area Community College (DMACC), which is undergoing an energy makeover through projects ranging from installing 1,500 occupancy sensors in the college’s classrooms to retrofitting outdated HVAC systems, or California’s EnergySmart Jobs program, which is training 200 experienced contractors and 200 young people to install energy-saving technologies at 5,000 businesses with refrigerator cases.
EERE says the site is even more user-friendly and easier to navigate, with stories searchable by state, energy area or specific Recovery Act grants and tax credits. Visitors can also sign up for an Energy Empowers newsletter, and the blog is on Facebook as well.
