by Shane Henson — June 15, 2011—Dow Jones & Company recently announced the completion of a 4.1 megawatt solar-power installation at its 200-acre corporate campus on U.S. Route 1 in South Brunswick, New Jersey. The company says the system is one of the largest at a single corporate site in the United States.
At peak production, the solar power system will provide half the power needs for the campus, with 230,000 square feet of solar panels. The South Brunswick corporate offices, Dow Jones’s largest, house a staff of nearly 2,000, including elements of nearly every Dow Jones operation from corporate to sales and marketing to news.
The investment is part of parent company News Corp.’s Global Energy Initiative and is its largest commitment to onsite renewable power to date. Dow Jones intends to finance the solar energy system in part through Public Service Electric and Gas Company’s (PSE&G) Solar Loan Program.
