Duro-Last Roofing chosen for Best Western and Consumers Energy Training

by AF 0914 h5 — September 17, 2008—Duro-Last Roofing, Inc., a national manufacturer of thermoplastic commercial roofing systems, has been re-endorsed by Best Western International Inc., as a preferred vendor. As an endorsed roofing supplier, Duro-Last is approved by Best Western for potential installation in more than 2,400 North American hotels. Duro-Last also has been installed on the Consumers Energy Training Facility, where almost 30,000 square feet of Duro-Last’s single-ply PVC roofing system was installed.

Duro-Last’s custom-prefabricated, reinforced single-ply roofing system provides a quality-assured product manufactured in a controlled factory environment, a process that eliminates up to 85% of rooftop seaming. This amounts to savings in labor costs and improves the long-term performance of the roofing system. Duro-Last is a “charter partner” in the ENERGY STAR Roof Products Program, sponsored by the US Environmental Protection Agency. The highly reflective white membrane delivers real energy cost savings for building owners and managers.

In addition, a 15-year full warranty has no exclusions for ponding water and provides coverage against consequential damages that result from defects in the material and installation workmanship, says the company.

The Duro-Last roofing system has also been installed on the Consumers Energy Training Facility in Marshall, Michigan. The new facility is protected by almost 30,000 square feet of Duro-Last’s single-ply PVC roofing system and will be submitted to the U.S. Green Building Council for LEED certification.

The training facility’s prefabricated roofing system was manufactured at Duro-Last’s headquarters in Saginaw, Michigan, and installed by authorized contractor Superior Service RSH, Inc. of Lansing, Michigan. Many of the construction materials were chosen because they were produced locally, which will help earn credits toward LEED certification.

As a company, Duro-Last recycles manufacturing scrap back into the roofing system or other construction products. Finally, unlike other roofing materials, says Duro-Last, the system is also recyclable at the end of its useful life. The energy-efficient Duro-Last roofing system is also leak-proof, virtually maintenance-free and resistant to chemicals, fire, and high winds.
