by Rebecca Walker — April 5, 2010—Dysons patented, polycarbonate Airblade hand dryer, which produces 50 percent less CO2 emissions than its aluminum equivalent, has earned the Carbon Reduction Label from the Carbon Trust.
The Carbon Reduction Label recognizes manufacturers commitment to the further reduction of their products carbon footprint &Mdash; the amount of carbon emissions (CO2 and other greenhouse gases) produced from its materials and manufacture, transport, in-use and end of life.
The Label, established in 2007 is only granted to companies with a “reduce it or lose it” clause, meaning if they fail to reduce the carbon footprint of the product in two years the Carbon Trust will withdraw the certification.
The Dyson Airblade hand dryer eliminates the power hungry heating element, drying hands faster, more hygienically while using nearly 80 percent less energy than traditional warm air dryers, according to the company.
The Dyson Airblade leaves hands clean and dry in just 12 seconds. Powered by the Dyson digital motor, two high-velocity sheets of air literally scrapes water from hands like a windshield wiper. It features a HEPA filter, cleaning the air before touching your hands, and is the only hand dryer certified hygienic by NSF International.
