by Shane Henson — December 2, 2013—E-Mon, an electric submetering market provider worldwide, recently announced the addition of its PowerSmart family of power quality/energy monitors and revenue-grade power quality socket meters to its line of products.
According to the company, its PowerSmart family was designed for commercial, industrial and institutional energy monitoring applications, and offers users unprecedented granularity of energy measurement data combined with advanced power quality analysis via PowerSoftware. The PowerSmart family comes in a variety of configurations that allow users to specify the functionality best suited to their application needs, E-Mon adds.
The three models in the PowerSmart family are:
PowerSmart Plus Essential Power Quality Meter: A multifunctional power meter measuring more than 100 energy parameters for revenue metering, power quality and harmonic analysis. The device can be integrated in panel boards or supplied in a stand-alone enclosure. The LCD display provides a wealth of metering information and graphical display of vector diagrams, load bars and waveform monitoring. Flexible communication options include RS-485 and Ethernet for remote visualization. The meter is ideal for energy metering and power quality analysis of specific critical loads to an entire building.
PowerSmart Plus Advanced Power Quality Meter: A multifunction power meter combined with a power quality analyzer. The meter has extensive memory and data logging capability to support full harmonic analysis and waveform recording. The device can be integrated into panel boards or provided in a stand-alone enclosure. Flexible communication options include RS-485 and Ethernet for remote visualization.
PowerSmart Revenue Grade Power Quality Socket Meter: An advanced power quality analyzer in a socket meter configuration. The device provides long-term memory for load and trend profiles and includes advanced power quality analysis to detect and record waveform events and fault currents that are harmful to power systems. The meter is ideal for government and large campus facilities, electric utility entities, or any electrical substation where precise energy information is required.
