by Ann Withanee — September 30, 2011—The federal government’s Energy Independence and Security Act of 2007 (EISA) states that general use light bulbs must be 30 percent more energy efficient. The efficiency standards start with 100-watt bulbs in January 2012 and end with 40-watt bulbs in January 2014. Facilities executives have been taking steps to comply with EISA, searching for products to provide their employees with efficient lighting for their daily needs.

One option introduced by Bulbrite is its eco-friendly halogen A19 lamp. It is Bulbrite’s answer for those consumers suffering from “light bulb anxiety” and confusion about replacement options for the company’s traditional incandescent bulbs.

Bulbrite’s eco-friendly halogen A19 complies with EISA’s standards and, says Bulbrite, consumers will gain the benefits of higher efficiency and superior lighting quality with its alternative to CFLS (compact fluorescents) and LEDs (light-emitting diodes).

The ECO Halogen A19, a recent winner of the Platinum Award for Design Excellence (ADEX), is fully dimmable and can last up to 1,000 hours, according to Bulbrite. In comparison to its incandescent replacements, Bulbrite’s eco-friendly halogen A19 significantly reduces energy consumption without sacrificing light output, as shown below:

  • 29-watt Halogen A19 equals 40-watt incandescent
  • 43-watt Halogen A19 equals 60-watt incandescent
  • 53-watt Halogen A19 equals 75-watt incandescent
  • 72-watt Halogen A19 equals 100-watt incandescent

The lamp is available in four different wattages with both clear and soft white finishes. The bulbs can be used in chandeliers, outdoor and security lights, ceiling pendants, recessed downlights, portable table and floor lamps, and wall sconces.

Bulbrite is an award-winning manufacturer and supplier of innovative, energy-efficient light source solutions.
