Ellis Hotel earns Green Seal Silver environmental certification

by Brianna Crandall — October 7, 2015—The Ellis Hotel of Atlanta, Georgia, has been awarded Silver Certification by Green Seal, the national environmental certification organization and provider of the original “Green Seal of Approval.” The certification was awarded under Green Seal’s GS-33 Standard for Hotels and Lodging Properties.

As a Silver certified property, The Ellis Hotel has met the comprehensive requirements of the standard, which include waste minimization, reuse, and recycling; practicing energy efficiency and conservation; managing fresh water resources and waste water; using environmentally preferable products; instituting an environmental mission and purchasing policy; and working overall to protect human and environmental health for both guests and staff.

The property must also submit to regular monitoring to assure continued compliance.
