by Shane Henson — November 18, 2013—EMCOR Services New England Mechanical has been awarded a contract to provide energy efficiency upgrades at a 98,000-square-foot commercial building known as 855 Main Street in Bridgeport, Connecticut.
The company plans to help the building save energy and reduce associated energy costs through providing various turnkey services. The scope of work includes an initial ASHRAE (American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air-Conditioning Engineers) Level II building energy audit, which provides the building owner with a detailed building survey and energy analysis; the development and energy analysis of energy conservation measures; and the engineering and construction of recommended energy efficiency improvements. Energy upgrades will include high-efficiency window glazing, a central chilled water plant, building control strategies, and a direct digital control system.
The building manager, Forstone Management, selected EMCOR Services New England Mechanical to perform the upgrade project in part because of its knowledge of and familiarity with the Energize Connecticut program and the Commercial Property Assessed Clean Energy (C-PACE) program, and the potential for EMCOR Services New England Mechanical to assist the project in securing energy incentives through these programs.
“We understand that the energy efficiency upgrades at 855 Main Street will represent one of the largest C-PACE projects to date,” said Dana Finnegan, president and CEO of EMCOR Services New England Mechanical. “It’s an honor to work with Forstone Management at 855 Main Street and a pleasure to implement a program that will allow us to improve tenant comfort and energy efficiency, and our client’s financial performance all at the same time.”
