Evergreen Fire & Security wins security system contract protecting Department of Defense sites

by Ann Withanee — March 21, 2011—Evergreen Fire & Security (Evergreen), a leading systems integrator focused on delivering life safety and security solutions to high-security government installations, has been awarded the prime contract designation on a five year, $250 million maximum value contract to provide physical security and force protection services in an automated control systems environment for worldwide support of the Department of Defense (DoD) and key non-DoD Federal Government Agencies, according to Evergreen.

The program under contract, known as Electronic Security Systems V (ESS-V) Restricted Suite, is managed and supported by the United States Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) from the Electronic Security Center (ESC) based in Huntsville, Alabama. The mission of the ESC is to provide a wide range of electronic security system services to U.S. government agencies across the globe. These services are designed to include physical security, life safety, force protection, anti-terrorism and vulnerability reduction.

ESS-V is a competitive, multiple award, indefinite delivery indefinite quantity (IDIQ) contract and is available to all government agencies worldwide supported by USACE. As one of six awardees, Evergreen’s contract will allow it to develop business under USACE over a base period of three years with a maximum value of $150 million and a two year option period for $100 million.
