by Rebecca Walker — February 23, 2009 The eVolo Skyscraper Competition invites architects, engineers and designers to explore new ideas and concepts for vertical density each year. For 2009, the competition received 416 projects from 64 countries.
Winners include Eric Vergne’s Dystopian Farm project, which envisions a future New York City interspersed with elegantly spiraling biomorphic structures that will harness cutting-edge technology to provide the city with its own self-sustaining food source.
The top projects will be detailed in a coming issue of eVolo magazine, and exhibitions of the best products from 2006 through 2009 will be shown in New York City. See the Web site for more details.
