by Shane Henson — July 12, 2013—Exacq Technologies, a manufacturer of video management system (VMS) software and servers used for video surveillance, recently announced a new integration with ELERTS Corporation, an in-the-cloud software solution used to instantly analyze incidents as they are sent from a smartphone app.
Exacq Technologies says that through this strategic integration, security professionals monitoring buildings of all types will be better able to maintain safe environments through being able to access security information more easily and rapidly.
ELERTS provides incident reporting software that integrates with an exacqVision system. This smartphone communication network allows users running an ELERTS app to easily report safety concerns to their organization, police or security operations center as they are occurring.
When an incident is reported from the ELERTS app, ELERTS sends the smartphone GPS location to its cloud server to determine which surveillance video camera is closest to the incident, based on the location of the smartphone. The ELERTS server sends an event message to the exacqVision server to focus attention on the nearest camera’s field of view.
When the ELERTS integration is utilized, anyone who is connected to the exacqVision server via the exacqVision client software will immediately be switched to live video from the specified camera. This integration gives exacqVision users the capability to intercept and appropriately act upon suspicious activities as they are happening at their facilities.
