by Shane Henson — May 1, 2013—EyeLock Inc., developer of advanced iris-based identity authentication solutions, displayed its new access control system, HBOX, at the ISC West security event held in Las Vegas earlier this month.

Available through Stanley Security Solutions , HBOX is a multimodal biometric reader that scans the iris to deliver a high level of security. Designed as an over-the-door device, it can be used indoors as well as outdoors, with multiple mounting options ranging from mobile stands and fixed frames to wall mounts.

According to EyeLock, this high-throughput iris recognition device provides “unmatched” accuracy and security, and is capable of authenticating 50 people per minute. It also offers the ability to store user records on board and connects via Wiegand, F/2/F, Relay and Ethernet for simple integration with customers’ existing access control platforms.

“We have worked to leverage next-generation, multicore processing hardware and video capture components, as well as advancements in our proprietary software applications, to improve our industry-leading technology. The HBOX seamlessly integrates, and is compatible with, the entire suite of EyeLock products, enabling custom solutions—from physical access to logical access,” said Philip Petracca, vice president of product strategy and development.

As with every product in EyeLock’s comprehensive suite of identity management solutions, the purchase of the HBOX includes enrollment, administrative and matching software, as well as a per-unit license for unlimited users, adds the company.
