FCICA certifies first international flooring installation manager

by Brianna Crandall — January 8, 2016—FCICA, the Flooring Contractors Association, recently announced the first international CIM candidate to receive the Certified Installation Manager (CIM) designation.

Benjamin Ablao from Inter Décor Furnishing in Dubai completed all of the learning modules and assessments in the CIM Program to become the first international Certified Installation Manager. Upon completing the program, Mr. Ablao remarked, “It is a great program which is very much helpful and covering lot of topics on how to manage a project better.”

Also achieving CIM certification status in 2015 were: James Bissler of Texan Floor Service, Jonathan Clinger of Interface Services, Amy Johnston of Flooring Services, Patrick Kaiser of Lippert Tile Co., Rio Marcantonio of Fazio Floors, Mike Newberry of Inside Edge Commercial Interior Services, Doug Price of Whitt Carpet & Tile Service, Bruce Reeve of Flooring Services, Scott Spencer of One Source Commercial Flooring, and Jesse Tranel of Dalton Carpet One.

The CIM program is an online certification program specifically developed for and available to all who want to obtain the knowledge necessary to become a Certified Installation Manager and learn the important skills required of that position, regardless of their affiliations.

According to FCICA, the program was created to address the need for an industry-standard skill level for flooring installation managers with an education program using manufacturers’ as well as related industry associations’ and leaders’ best practices to develop modules of learning and assessment. CIM candidates are trained to think, audit, report, train, question, investigate and inspect.
