by Shane Henson — April 5, 2013—Australian businesses required to reduce their carbon footprint and energy usage can find help through the carbon reduction capabilities of Airius Oceania’s Air Pear Thermal Equalizer units, which are now more accessible through a new financing program. Low Carbon Australia recently partnered with FlexiGroup under the Energy Smart Finance initiative to offer customers a finance package to make the changes more financially feasible.

According to Airius Oceania, a multinational company based in Colorado and part of Avedon Engineering, the technology will support a range of commercial users, from cold storage and freezer rooms to retail stores and shopping centers, to car showrooms, manufacturing plants, aircraft hangars, factory warehouses, schools and offices. It has also provided benefits for sporting venues, greenhouses, indoor pools and churches.

“As everyone knows, cold air falls, making hot air rise. Our Air Pear fans help circulate the air to prevent it from forming temperature layers,” says CEO John Brodie. “This helps optimize the performance of existing air conditioning, heating and ventilation systems and equipment.”

By circulating the air more efficiently, cooled air is spread evenly throughout the internal space, eliminating hot and cold spots, drawing a lesser load from air conditioning systems and preventing large atmospheric losses each time a door or a window is opened, explains the company. The Air Pear also reduces or eliminates condensation, keeping products clearly on display and minimizing surface corrosion and cleaning.

Brodie said the fan system could significantly reduce cooling and heating costs as well as related energy costs and carbon emissions by up to 35 percent in most air-conditioned or heated building types. In addition, he says that building temperatures are equalized within 48 hours of installation, and that the equalized temperatures and air circulation capability (see the YouTube video) maximizes the efficiency of the air flow system, satisfying the thermostat and stopping cooling and heating systems from over delivering, which reduces energy costs immediately.

The products are also designed to be easily installed, and to work alongside existing heating and cooling systems. Facilities managers may also appreciate that they are quiet, and maintenance requirements are minimal.

The technology has been used widely overseas, and Airius Oceania is the exclusive importer into Australia. The company claims that in most installations, returns on investment were achieved in under three years, and in some cases as low as three months.

The Air Pear technology is also available in the United States and various other countries.
