by jbs052710 g — May 31, 2010—A consortium of developers Redevco and Shui On Land is the first to register a development in China for assessment under the BREEAM (BRE Environmental Assessment Method) rating tool for sustainable buildings. The consortium began working with BRE Global towards the end of 2009 and is nearing the final stage of producing suitable criteria for the BREEAM assessment of the building.
Wuhan Tiandi is a mixed-use project with a gross floor area of 500,000m2 that includes offices, retail and a five-star hotel. The BREEAM assessment will be carried out on the five-story shopping mall in the development, which totals just over 109,000m2 including car parking.
The construction of the complex is expected to commence in the fourth quarter of 2010 and be completed in 2013. The BREEAM assessment will be carried out under BREEAM International Bespoke 2008, which has involved the development of specific criteria tailored to local conditions and standards within an overall BREEAM framework.
