by Ann Withanee — December 22, 2010—Fluor Corporation announced it was awarded an ongoing design and construction management contract by IBM for facility capital projects at three new locations in the northeast United States. Fluor is currently working at eight other IBM sites in Arizona, California, Colorado, Minnesota, North Carolina and Texas.
The three new facilities for Fluor’s new work are located in New York. The new sites include data center, wafer fabrication and research facilities. Fluor currently has more than 500 employees working at IBM sites around the U.S. providing a range of services under other contracts. Additional construction management staff will be hired for the three new sites.
As a unit of Fluor’s Global Services Group, the facility management business line offers solutions to both industrial and commercial clients by combining Fluor’s building design and construction expertise with its plant operations and maintenance best practices.
