FMLink announces a unique approach to social media in the FM arena

by Scott Peters — September 16, 2011—We have gone social! You will see that we not only have a major presence in the social networking area, but an integrated one. Everything has been designed to make it very easy for you to comment on provocative topics, tweet key topical facts to others in your network, and follow the threads that mean the most to you. Making the most of your limited time, we are selecting just a few of the most interesting stories to post and tweet each week. Visit us today on Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn.

We have selected our Facebook postings to be those that are likely to result in discussion and comments. You’ll be able to “Like” each posting individually—that helps us learn which postings we should flag for the future and will allow your friends to see what you like. You also may comment on these postings on our wall to get a discussion going. Click on any Facebook posting to see the full article on which it was based. Find us in Facebook at FMLink Group LLC.

On Twitter, you will see tweets that present interesting facts, such as from survey results, trends, significant new regulations, fun facts, etc. As with Facebook, you may click on any tweet and find the source article on FMLink. You may follow us on Twitter at FMLinkGroupLLC.

On LinkedIn, FMLink will be participating in several key FM-related discussion groups. We encourage you to look for threads from FMLink Publisher Peter Kimmel, and to participate in discussions with him. You may find our company profile on LinkedIn at FMLink.

You’ll find social sharing links on our articles and Web site that will enable you to share these with your colleagues. We’ll also share with you the conferences we will be attending—we’d love to meet you in person! Do take advantage of the tools we are offering through social media, and have one more way to stay on top of leading news impacting facilities management.

All items from Facebook and Twitter are identified in our FMLink free weekly newsletters. If you’re not getting them, you may want to subscribe online—you will be able to select just the newsletter topics that are most meaningful to you. Besides our general newsletter, you will find specialty newsletters on the following topics:

  • Energy management
  • Sustainability
  • Maintenance and operations
  • Furnishings and interiors
  • Software

FMLink is the online magazine for facilities managers. New material is published daily, and we send out two newsletters every week. There is no charge to access FMLink or its newsletters.
