FM:Systems announces FM software updated with hoteling, BIM asset enhancements

by Brianna Crandall — March 5, 2014—FM:Systems, a leading provider of integrated workplace management systems (IWMS) and computer-aided facilities management (CAFM) software, has just announced the availability of version 8.3 of its Web-based FM:Interact Workplace Management Suite. FM:Interact version 8.3 offers a variety of new features and capabilities that will allow organizations to rapidly respond to changing requirements across their entire real estate portfolio.

“FM:Interact 8.3 gives our customers powerful new tools to address new challenges in today’s highly dynamic facilities environment,” said Michael Schley, founder and CEO for FM:Systems. “With added support for office space hoteling and expanded capabilities for robust integration with building information models, this release continues to build on the strength of FM:Interact’s industry-leading configurability and flexibility.”

New capabilities include an office hoteling module that enables organizations to provide a method for allowing employees to reserve work space on an as-needed rather than a traditional constantly reserved basis. This can help to reduce the amount of physical space that an enterprise needs, helping to lower overhead costs while ensuring that every worker can access office resources when necessary. Additional new capabilities include enhancements to FM:Systems’ industry-leading building information modeling (BIM) integration, including greater capabilities for managing building asset inventories.

FM:Systems helps facilities and real estate professionals improve customer service, reduce costs and increase productivity enterprise-wide. The company’s Web-based software is designed to improve management of space, occupancy, moves, maintenance, leases and property. Reported customer results among many of the world’s leading organizations include: real estate costs reduced by 15 percent, move spend reduced by 88 percent, average enterprise productivity savings of $1.5 million, and an internal customer satisfaction rate of 97 percent.
