by Ann Withanee — June 27, 2011—Follett Corporation’s 7 Series ice and water dispensers provide improved employee refreshment in a more compact, attractive and sanitary fashion than currently available, says the company. Displayed at the NeoCon World’s Trade Fair, at The Merchandise Mart, Chicago, the 7 Series dispenser can produce up to 125 pounds of chewable, Chewblet ice per day and store 7 pounds, yet fit on a counter under an 18 in. wall-mounted cabinet, dispense ice hands-free, and not require a drain.
The ability to provide ice will enhance hydration programs and consequently support wellness and productivity initiatives since people like chilled water and since ice keeps drinks cooler longer, notes the company. Since the 7 Series does not require a drain, installation costs are reduced and design options for icemaker placement are expanded.
From an aesthetic perspective, the 7 Series is an icemaker that will complement almost any office dcor. With its ultra-low energy and water consumption and sleep mode function, the 7 Series reduces utility costs compared to typical office icemakers and contributes to sustainability efforts, claims Follett. The hands-free dispensing and the antimicrobial protection allow designers to provide another measure of safety and sanitation by eliminating icemakers that require manual scooping of ice and avoiding the associated risk of contamination from dirty hands or dirty cups.
With its highly efficient refrigeration and water systems, the 7 Series meets the stringent CEE Tier 2 standards for energy efficiency, offering up to a 50 percent reduction in energy costs and up to a 75 percent reduction in water consumption compared to under-counter icemakers found in offices today, says the company.
