by Ann Withanee — November 3, 2010—During its 20th anniversary conference recently, the Global Environmental Management Initiative (GEMI) announced the launch of its environmental, health and safety and sustainability solution tool, the GEMI Solution Tools Matrix.
The organization has created an interactive Web solution to guide users through the tools it has developed over the past 20 years. The new GEMI Solution Tools Matrix serves as a how-to/where-to solution for professionals seeking guidance on addressing environmental sustainability issues.
The Matrix is intended to highlight the value of GEMI’s diverse portfolio of solution-based tools and serve as a navigational guide to assist companies in their own pursuit of environmental, health and safety (EHS) and sustainability excellence. For historical context, the Matrix includes some important external drivers and prevailing environmental management themes along the timeline with the tools.
The Matrix displays an historical timeline of key environmental-related events, and GEMI’s solution tools, using mouse-over/pop-up windows, to display tool details, associated publications and other related resources. Regardless of where a company may be in its sustainability journey, GEMI’s collection of 30 solution tools offers practical guidance and examples for addressing challenges and opportunities across the sustainability continuum.
