Georgia-Pacific earns “Green Approved” certifications for multiple structural wood products

by AF 0119 j3 — January 22, 2010—Georgia-Pacific Wood Products, a leader in the building and construction industry, has announced it has achieved “Green Approved” certification from the NAHB Research Center for 13 of its wood and engineered lumber products.

“Green Approved” certification means the Georgia-Pacific products comply with specific green practice criteria in the National Green Building Standard. Builders can earn points toward certification to the Standard by using Georgia-Pacific “Green Approved” products in accordance with both the approved practices described in the Standard and manufacturer installation instructions.

The following Georgia-Pacific wood products have earned the approval from the NAHB Research Center: Plytanium and DryPly plywood; Blue Ribbon oriented strand board (OSB); DryGuard enhanced OSB; Nautilus wall sheathing; Thermostat radiant barrier sheathing; Wood I Beam, XJ 85, and Broadspan joists; GP Lam and Broadspan laminated veneer lumber (LVL); and Fiberstrong and Broadspan rim board.
