Global FM Awards celebrate excellence in FM; JLL wins Platinum

by Brianna Crandall — June 12, 2015—Global FM, the worldwide alliance of facilities management (FM) organizations, announced the winners of the 2015 Global FM Awards on Wednesday at the Workplace Continuity Seminar being hosted by NJW in celebration of World FM Day. Global professional services and investment management firm JLL (Jones Lang LaSalle) earned the highest accolade, the Platinum Award for Excellence in FM 2015.

The Global FM Awards of Excellence focus on promoting the strategic value and progression of facilities management, and look to assess: innovation, advancement of FM, corporate outcomes, contribution to Global FM’s mission, and leadership in FM operations. Entries are drawn from Global FM member organizations across the world and are benchmarked to the highest standards.

JLL’s entry, submitted through the British Institute of Facilities Management (BIFM), was focused around JLL’s Property and Asset Management Academy, a million-pound initiative that focuses on global collaboration in training. The Academy aims to benchmark FM training to ensure the competencies and skills taught to FM staff are truly world class and match those expected by leading professional bodies across the globe. As part of this work, JLL offers an IOSH Managing Safely qualification and is the first U.K. managing agent to become a BIFM Recognised Centre offering Level 4 qualifications in FM.

The 2015 winners, along with their submitting organizations, are as follows:

  • Platinum Award for Excellence in FM: JLL Property and Asset Management Academy (BIFM, U.K.)
  • Gold Award for Excellence in FM: Westminster Schools Move to a Sustainable Campus (IFMA, USA)
  • Silver Award for Excellence in FM: People and Productivity – Commonwealth Bank of Australia (FMA, Australia)
