Global FM promotes World FM Day on June 27

by Brianna Crandall — May 20, 2013—The Global Facility Management Association (Global FM) has announced that the fifth annual World FM Day will take place on Thursday, June 27, 2013, and that the winners of the Global FM Awards for Excellence in FM will be announced on that day. According to the Brussels-based international nonprofit, the core message of the 2013 World FM Day is “Creating, Sharing and Learning.”

Global FM member organizations on six different continents will commemorate World FM Day by hosting events all around the world such as luncheons, seminars, cocktails and workshops, or by undertaking any other activity to celebrate and promote facilities management. Global FM leadership invites everyone to share their latest achievements and successes as an FM professional, as a team, company or country. The goal this year is to use World FM Day as a platform to celebrate all the successes achieved by the FM professionals and industry around the world.

Member associations currently include the Associação Brasileira de Facilities (ABRAFAC), the Association des Directeurs de l’Environnement de Travail (ARSEG), the British Institute of Facilities Management (BIFM), the European Facility Management Network (EuroFM), the Facility Management Association of Australia (FMA Australia), the Hungarian Facility Management Society (HFMS), the International Facility Management Association (IFMA), the Middle East Facility Management Association (MEFMA), the Facility Management Association of New Zealand (FMANZ), and the South African Facilities Management Association (SAFMA).

Global FM has posted its Promotional Video World FM Day 2013 on YouTube, inviting FMs around the world to join the celebrations. The video features Duncan Waddell, Global FM Chair and Chair of the World FM Day Taskforce.

The Global FM Web site also provides a communications support package with all the graphic material to brand a participating event: logo, banner, poster, e-mail signature, and Power Point presentation template. Some of these materials are editable, so the location and time of a specific World FM Day event can be added.

Specific events are listed on the World FM Day Google Map . Global FM encourages participating organizations to add any events taking place in their countries to the Google Map as well, or to e-mail the details to worldfmday@globalfm.org.
