Global FM’s fourth annual World FM Day to celebrate FM successes worldwide

by Brianna Crandall — June 6, 2012—The Brussels-based nonprofit Global FM, the Global Facilities Management Association, has announced that its fourth annual World FM Day will take place in less than a month on Thursday, June 28, 2012, to highlight the importance of the FM profession around the world, not only within the profession and industry, but also among governments and the general business community.

The core message of this year’s World FM Day is “Celebrating Success,” and Global FM invites everyone to share their latest achievements and successes as an FM professional, as a team, company or country, and to join in celebrating those of the FM industry worldwide.

Global FM member organizations on six different continents will commemorate World FM Day by hosting public events around the world such as governmental partnerships, networking luncheons and cocktails, award presentations, workshops, video presentations, social media campaigns and more.

As in previous years, a communications support package is available for download at Global FM’s World FM Day 2012 Web site, including an animated logo with the message “Celebrating Success” rotating in nine different languages, the World FM Day banner, e-mail signature, power point presentation, and other tools to help organize an event on June 28.

The World FM Day 2012 Google Map is also being populated with activities all over the world. Participants are encouraged to add their planned events to the map as well. A promotional video was also released in early May with a message from Teena Shouse and Duncan Waddell inviting FMs around the world to join the celebrations.

Participating Global FM associations include the Associação Brasileira de Facilities (ABRAFAC), the Association des Directeurs de l’Environnement de Travail (ARSEG), the British Institute of Facilities Management (BIFM), the European Facility Management Network (EuroFM), the Facility Management Association of Australia (FMA Australia), the Hungarian Facility Management Society (HFMS), the International Facility Management Association (IFMA), the Middle East Facility Management Association (MEFMA), the Facility Management Association of New Zealand (FMANZ), and the South African Facilities Management Association (SAFMA).
