by Rebecca Walker — August 27, 2010—To help building owners and operators cut energy costs and improve building performance, Green Building Services Inc. (GBS) and BOMA Portland (Portland Metropolitan Building Owners and Managers Association) have developed a new Web-based technical solution. Building Insights O+M Track supports ongoing operational improvements and maintenance processes critical to high-performance buildings, they say.
The O+M tracking framework includes plans, programs, logs, surveys and calculators as well as best practice policies in categories such as green cleaning and purchasing. It offers a comprehensive view of operations and maintenance activities and aligns with LEED EB: O+M reporting requirements, encouraging compliance under LEED for Existing Buildings.
GBS and BOMA Portland created the secure-host, Web-based delivery system for easy information upload into the central tracking database.
O+M Track works for multiple building types and is ideally suited for owners who:
- Want to track the performance of multiple building assets.
- Track ongoing performance of LEED certified buildings.
- Seek to demonstrate green leadership in their Class A buildings.
- Want to understand their baseline building performance.
