by Rebecca Walker — November 2, 2009—Green Depot, a leading independent green material supplier, and Greenmaker Industries, a furnishings manufacturer and importer, have jointly launched a line of environmentally friendly commercial cleaning products that cost just pennies per gallon.
The line includes all-purpose concentrates; glass and window concentrate; an enzymatic cleaner/deodorizer; laundry, hand, and dishwashing soaps; and floor care products.
The concentrates are dye-free, and contain no petroleum distillates, heavy metals, ammonia, chlorine bleach, phosphates, nonylphenol surfactants, 2-butoxyethanol, isopropanol, or formaldehyde. Because they are so concentrated, most applications call for 1-3 ounces of concentrate per gallon of water.
Many of Greenmaker’s concentrates are certified under a Green Seal standard, and four also carry the U.S Environmental Protection Agency’s Design for the Environment (DfE) label, a designation awarded to products found to use safer chemistry that protects consumers and the environment.
Stocked in one-gallon jugs, the concentrates are available in bulk (5, 30, and 55 gallons) by special order. Wall-mounted and hand-held dilution equipment is also available from Green Depot, to help employees dispense pre-metered solutions into ready-to-use buckets or spray bottles, minimizing human error and containing costs.
A closed-loop dispenser must be used with the one-gallon Tub & Tile Concentrate, in accordance with Green Seal requirements. Closed-loop or open-dilution systems are optional for All-Purpose, Glass & Window, and Peroxide concentrates.
