by Brianna Crandall — December 1, 2010—Green Roofs for Healthy Cities recently announced the winners the 2010 Green Roof and Wall Awards of Excellence, which feature roofs designed to be picked up and moved, and green walls that make it easier to breathe, says GRHC. The awards are being presented at the CitiesAlive: 8th Annual Green Roof and Wall Conference and Trade Show in Vancouver, BC.
The 2010 GRHC Award winners are:
- Green Walls: Diamond and Schmitt Architects (Architect) for the Camilla and Peter Dalglish Atrium, Royal Botanical Gardens, Burlington, Ontario
- Green Roof – Intensive Industrial/Commercial: FXFOWLE Architects (Architect) for 250 Hudson Street, New York, NY
- Green Roof – Extensive Institutional: PWL Partnership Landscape Architects Inc. (Landscape Architects) for Vancouver Convention Centre Expansion Project, Vancouver, British Columbia
- Green Roof – Intensive Industrial/Commercial: FXFOWLE Architects (Architect) for 250 Hudson Street, New York, NY
250 Hudson Street in New York, NY, a “relaxing” 8,000-
square foot rooftop space for tenants and part of a $30
million retrofit, won GRHC’s Green Roof – Intensive
Industrial/Commercial award.
- Green Roof – Extensive Residential: McGlashan Architecture (Architect and Lead Green Roof Designer) for Mill Valley Hillside, Mill Valley, CA
- Green Roof – Intensive Institutional: Conservation Design Forum (Landscape Architecture Consultant and Green Roof Design) for ASLA Headquarters Green Roof, Washington, DC
