by Brianna Crandall — July 29, 2013—Green Seal, depicted as the nation’s oldest nonprofit environmental certification organization and the original “Green Seal of Approval,” recently announced the beginning of the Green Seal Blog. According to Linda Chipperfield, Green Seal Vice President of Marketing and Communications, the blog is specifically designed “to share lessons learned and helpful habits developed over Green Seal’s more than 20 years of ecolabeling and environmental work.”
Some of the first posts are from Green Seal CEO Arthur Weissman (defined by the category titled “CEO Corner”). Green Seal’s Vice President of Certification Mary Swanson contributed a post describing the science and significance of volatile organic compounds. “You will also hear from many of our partners who help us achieve our mission, many of whom are true game-changers in various industries,” says Chipperfield.
Since its founding in 1989, one of Green Seal’s goals has been to not only identify products and services that meet specific environmental criteria and standards but to use its science-based programs to educate. “Our blog provides an excellent educational forum for us to support a wide segment of online readers—sustainability professionals, environmentalists, manufacturers, as well as purchasers and consumers. Throughout the blog, readers will be able to easily recognize the benefits of seeking and purchasing environmentally preferable products and services.”
