by Rebecca Walker — November 28, 2008—Green Star Products, Inc., Consumer Products Division has commercialized a new energy-saving and Earth-friendly insulation coating for industrial and residential applications, Super Therm Insulation Coating.
Super Therm is a ceramic based insulating and weatherizing coating. Its high reflectivity stops over 95 percent of the heat from loading into a structure and the high emissitivity throws off over 90 percent of the heat load, says the company.
Super Therm is primarily used as an exterior insulation roof coating but can be applied to exterior or interior walls, says the company. On exterior wall applications, it seals and protects the building from heat, water, mold, wind and sound. It also provides a better fire barrier, offering an “0” flame spread.
Super Therm protects the structure from thermal expansion/contraction damage and can more than double the re-painting cycle. It has a 10-year warranty with a 20-year life expectancy under normal conditions, and must be applied by a certified contractor.
Super Therm has been used around the world, especially in the Japanese roof coating market.
Green Star’s Green Consumer Products Division will handle wholesale and retail distribution of these green, Earth-friendly products, and will operate separately from Green Star’s core business, which is the biofuels, algae biomass and biorefinery business.
Green Star Products, Inc. is an environmentally friendly company dedicated to creating innovative cost-effective products to improve the quality of life and clean up the environment. For more information, see the Web site. Super Therm is manufactured by Superior Products International II, Inc.
